"I finally feel the progress"

From learners who tried everything else

It makes me happy that I can invest this time in myself with 1topic.

Emily

It disappears in 24 hours either way, so I never feel guilty about missing one.

Marcus

My first topic was WFH setups. Not something I'd usually pick on my own, but it was actually interesting.

Emma
Emma Australia

Hearing different perspectives every day helped me understand how to express opinions in the language, and now I find it much easier to speak up in meetings.

Ken
Ken Japan

Even with flashcards from a month ago, I can usually recall the context along with the word.

I thought I knew the basics, but I kept hearing simple verbs I'd never heard before.

Diana

It doesn't feel like studying at all. More like catching up on a show I actually like.

Matt

I've tried all kinds of methods, but here I can focus on listening at my own pace, and that makes me happy.

Maya

I used to memorize kanji on their own, without context. Having audio and context makes a big difference.

Justin

The meaning is right there in context, so I don't have to look things up. That's what keeps me going even on busy days.

How 1topic works

Your daily session

Your 1 topic a day session is simple and manageable, designed to help you go deep into a wide range of topics.

  1. Today's Topic

    ãĒんで一æ—ĨãĢä¸€ã¤ãŽãƒˆãƒ”ãƒƒã‚¯ã§č¨€čĒžã‚’åĻãļぎですか?

Why do you learn a language by focusing on one topic a day?

    Receive 1 topic a day

Topics you've never thought about are hard to engage with, even in your native language. That's why 1topic deliberately avoids tailoring content to your job or interests, and instead picks one topic daily from a wide range of fields. The goal is to create time for thinking about diverse topics as if they were your own.

  2. Think from 6 perspectives

Even the same question can be answered in many different ways. Exposure to multiple responses expands your range of expressions and paraphrases. The next time you're asked, you won't start from scratch. You'll be selecting from options already stored in your head.

  3. 一つ one ぎ of トピック topic ãĢ to įĩžãŖãĻ narrow down åĻãļ learn こと thing で by 、 , į„Ąį†ãĒく without straining oneself įŋ’æ…Ŗ化 habituation でき can do 、 , įļ™įļšįš„ãĒ continuous æˆé•ˇ growth が (subject marker) čĻ‹čžŧめる can be expected からだ it's because と that 思いぞす think 。 .

    Learn topic-specific vocabulary

Every sentence in each topic is broken down word by word, with context-appropriate meanings shown from the start. This removes the need to look things up, so you can take in more words. You'll build topic-specific vocabulary efficiently, together with sound and context.

  4. ãĒんで一æ—ĨãĢä¸€ã¤ãŽãƒˆãƒ”ãƒƒã‚¯ã§č¨€čĒžã‚’åĻãļぎですか? Why do you learn a language by focusing on one topic a day?
一åēĻãĢ多くをåĻãļより、一æ—ĨãĢ一つぎトピックãĢįĩžã‚‹ã“とで、į†č§ŖãŒæˇąãžã‚Šã€æˆæžœãŒé•ˇįļšãã™ã‚‹ã‹ã‚‰ã§ã™ã€‚ It's because concentrating on one topic per day helps deepen your understanding and makes the results last longer, rather than trying to learn many things at once.
ãĒるãģお、集中できるぎはいいですね。 I see, being able to focus sounds nice.
うん、į„ĻらずãĢやるといいですよ。 Yes, it's best to take it easy without rushing.
įļšã‘られるã‚ŗツはありぞすか? Do you have any tips for keeping it up?
小さãĒį›Žæ¨™ã‚’äŊœã‚‹ã¨ã„いですよ。 It's good to set small goals.

    Listen to pair conversations

Each topic includes not just questions and answers, but also the conversation that naturally follows. You'll repeatedly experience the rhythm of dialogue, natural reactions, and how to ask good follow-up questions. You'll see firsthand how a single question can unfold into many different conversations.

The key is not trying to memorize everything perfectly.

Each topic lasts 24 hours. It's there to remove the pressure to memorize everything. The words and expressions that matter come back, again and again, across different topics.

I've been learning a foreign language for decades. I bought countless books, practiced with teachers, recorded language programs, studied abroad when I was young, and even had foreign friends. Yet no matter what I tried, I could never shake the feeling that I wasn't actually getting anywhere.

Deep down, I always carried the same thought: "Before I die, I want to truly master this language. But I have no idea how." It was in the middle of that frustration that I found 1topicâ€Ļ

But I have no idea how." It was in the middle of that frustration that I found 1topic.

The six characters felt real to me. Their lines were full of expressions I could relate to and actually wanted to use myself. I started keeping a dedicated notebook, writing down phrases as I went, and before I knew it, years had passed. Not because I forced myself to keep going, but because I genuinely enjoyed it.

Then one day at a restaurant, a stranger sitting next to me struck up a conversation. He couldn't read the handwritten menu, so I helped him out, and somehow we just kept talking. He turned out to be a pilot, and our conversation drifted all the way to how modern aircraft work. Something I never could have imagined before starting 1topic.

Afterward, I realized something. In the past, I would have been frantically translating word by word in my head, struggling to get anything out. But in that moment, there was no translating. The words just came. It felt like all the expressions I'd been absorbing had quietly found their way into place.

With 1topic, you encounter the same expressions across many different contexts, so you naturally start to understand how and when they're used. You don't have to try to memorize anything. The understanding just builds up without you even noticing.

I used to believe I simply didn't have a talent for languages. Now I know: the method just wasn't right for me.

I won't pretend I'm anywhere near fluent. But for the first time, I've genuinely enjoyed learning a language and felt myself actually changing.

I no longer rely on piles of books or study materials. An environment where I can keep encountering natural expressions, over and over, that's what works for me.

I've managed to keep going, and I can feel the growth. So I believe you can go even further. Each daily topic disappears after 24 hours, so enjoy every one of them.
